Chemical Peels Upper East SideChemical peels remove damaged outer layers of skin on the face to smooth texture, reduce scarring, and remove blemishes and pre-cancerous growths to produce healthy, glowing skin. Peel formulas and strengths are tailored to each patient and often involve glycolic acid to gently yet effectively reduce the appearance of unwanted blemishes caused by acne and other conditions. There is no anesthetic needed for this treatment and the peel can be safely performed in Dr. Felderman’s office.
Peels can be combined with other procedures such as facelifts for a younger look. After treatment, patients may experience redness, stinging, irritation, flaking and other mild side effects that usually subside after a few days to produce a refreshed appearance with noticeably clearer skin.
Cherry Peel
A cherry peel uses natural fruit acids to effectively exfoliate the skin without irritation to produce smooth skin and reduce the appearance of acne lesions, wrinkles and uneven pigmentation. This aromatic peel is high in natural antioxidants and collagen-boosting ingredients for firm, vibrant skin shorter downtimes and fewer side effects than other types of peels.
Although considered mild, a cherry peel produces noticeable results, especially after a timely series of treatment sessions. It is considered ideal for patients who cannot spare the lengthy recovery times associated with stronger peels, or for those who only require mild exfoliation to improve the appearance of their skin.
Power Peel
The Power Peel is an advanced exfoliating treatment that uses microdermabrasion technology to improve the appearance of acne scars, age spots, stretch marks, wrinkles and other unwanted blemishes. With a combination of antioxidant and anti-aging products, the Power Peel produces medical grade exfoliation for patients seeking noticeable results without long recovery times.
The Power Peel treatment takes 10 to 30 minutes to perform, depending on the size and condition of the treated area. While you may experience a pink glow immediately after treatment, results will begin to appear shortly after, with maximum results developing after a series of treatment session. Patients can quickly return to work and other regular activities with little to no discomfort after treatment.
Vi Peel™
The Vi Peel is an advanced chemical peel that combines unique ingredients to produce significant results with no pain, no skin preparation and minimal downtime. Patients can enjoy smoother, fuller and more vibrant skin after just one 20-minute treatment session, which can be repeated regularly to prolong results. The Vi Peel can be used to reduce or eliminate acne, fine lines and wrinkles, age spots, freckles, pigmentation and more.
Patients may appear slightly tan or red immediately after treatment, and skin will begin to peel after three days. Moisturizer can help patients look their best through the healing process, so that they can continue their daily routine with no worries about their appearance. The results of the Vi Peel will be visible once the peeling process is complete and will improve the tone and texture of the skin for an overall more youthful appearance.
Hydra Firm Peel
As we age, our skin begins to sag and droop, causing our appearance to gradually reflect our age. Many patients unhappy with these changes seek treatment to restore a firm, vibrant appearance to their skin. With a unique combination of acids and peptides, the hydra firm peel provides effective exfoliation that firms the skin for up to a week.
